Position Title: Vice President Technology/Head of Formulations and Product Development
Location: Denver, Colorado
Reports To: President, EFI Polymers
Job Summary:
EFI Polymers is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Formulations and Product Development to lead our product development team in Denver, Colorado. This full-time position will be responsible for driving the creation of new formulated products, providing technical support to customers, and overseeing the product development process from concept to commercialization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in formulating epoxy and polyurethane products for the electrical and electronics markets, combined with proven leadership and management experience. This role offers a mix of strategic leadership and hands-on technical involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage the Product Development department, overseeing new product development, process introduction, and product scale-up.
· Develop and commercialize epoxy and polyurethane products, focusing on applications in the electrical and electronics industries. The role allows for leadership of the team as well as hands-on lab work.
· Provide technical support to customers, ensuring the successful integration of products into their operations.
· Work closely with the production team to optimize processing capabilities and enhance quality control processes.
· Evaluate new business opportunities and assign projects to department personnel based on strategic priorities and capabilities.
· Collaborate with vendors and technical partners to improve formulations and stay ahead of industry trends.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related field.
· Minimum of 15 years of experience in formulating epoxy and/or polyurethane products, with a strong focus on electrical and electronics applications.
· Proven experience in leadership and management roles, including team development, project oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.
Skills & Expertise:
· Deep knowledge of epoxy and polyurethane chemistry and formulation techniques.
· Experience in custom product formulations for industries such as electronics, automotive, instrumentation, and coatings.
· Commercially viable approach to product development
· Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and mentor technical teams.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
· Time management skill to address shifting priorities and balancing complexity with value
· Ability to stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and technical advancements.
